WHY I SERVE
“Caring for seniors is more than meeting their medical needs. It is about seeing the person behind the diagnosis, honoring their dignity, and helping them experience comfort, connection, and purpose every day.”
Throughout my nursing career, I have had the privilege of caring for older adults and supporting families through some of the most vulnerable and challenging seasons of their lives.
I have seen firsthand how dementia and other cognitive conditions affect not only the individual, but the entire family. Families often find themselves navigating difficult decisions, changing behaviors, medical concerns, and the emotional reality of watching someone they love change over time.
That is why I believe compassionate senior care must go beyond clinical care.
Our seniors deserve to feel safe, respected, valued, and connected. Their families deserve education, guidance, and reassurance that they do not have to navigate this journey alone.
I chose to serve as a Founding Board Member of Every Journey Matters because its mission reflects the principles that have guided me throughout my nursing career: compassionate care, dignity, education, meaningful engagement, and improving quality of life.
As Clinical & Senior Care Advisor, I hope to use my nursing and senior-care experience to help ensure our programs and resources are thoughtful, responsible, and centered on the real needs of seniors and the people who care for them.
Because even when memories change, the person remains — and they deserve to be cared for with dignity, compassion, and love.
“Behind every diagnosis is a person who still deserves to be seen, heard, valued, and loved. Good care protects their health. Compassionate care protects their dignity.”
