MEET JERMAINE
Coach Jermaine Worley is an educator, coach, mentor, minister, curriculum developer, author, and community leader dedicated to empowering youth, strengthening families, and building healthier communities through athletic, academic, and character development.
Coach Worley earned his undergraduate degree in Bible and Theology from Simpson University and his Master of Education (M.Ed.) from the University of the Pacific. He is also a graduate and former student-athlete of Feather River College, where his experiences helped shape his passion for using athletics and education as vehicles for personal growth and opportunity.
He is the Founder and Co-Owner of Chosen Training and the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Chosen Sports Leagues. Through these organizations, Coach Worley develops young people through athletics, academic development, mentorship, leadership, and character education. As a curriculum developer, he creates educational and youth-development programming designed to strengthen student achievement, life skills, and personal growth. He is also the author of Worley’s Chosen Effective Habits, a resource focused on developing productive habits, character, discipline, leadership, and personal responsibility.
Throughout his career, Coach Worley has served as an educator and school administrator while coaching and mentoring young people at multiple levels. His approach extends beyond athletic performance, emphasizing the confidence, discipline, resilience, academic skills, leadership, and integrity young people need to succeed in school, sports, careers, and life.
Coach Worley also serves as a minister and community advocate, partnering with schools, nonprofit organizations, churches, businesses, and families to create opportunities that inspire hope, purpose, service, and lasting community impact.
As a Founding Board Member of Every Journey Matters, Coach Worley provides strategic leadership in community engagement, educational and academic programming, youth development, volunteer development, and public outreach. His commitment to servant leadership and family-centered values helps bridge generations by encouraging young people and community members to support seniors living with dementia while promoting compassion, service, dignity, and meaningful connection throughout the community.
WHY I SERVE

Throughout my life as an educator, coach, mentor, minister, and community leader, I have had the privilege of working with young people and families from many different backgrounds. One lesson continues to guide me: people need people.
Young people need mentors who believe in them. Families need communities willing to support them. And our seniors need to know that they are still valued, respected, and connected to the world around them.
I believe there is an incredible opportunity to bring these generations together.
Our seniors carry decades of experiences, lessons, traditions, stories, and wisdom. Young people bring energy, curiosity, creativity, and the opportunity to carry those lessons forward. When we create meaningful opportunities for them to connect, both generations benefit.
A young person may sit with a senior, play a game, read together, listen to music, work on an activity, hear a story, or simply have a conversation. What may seem like a small moment can become something much greater.
For the senior, it can mean companionship, purpose, joy, and connection.
For the young person, it can become a lesson in patience, compassion, respect, service, and understanding.
And for our community, it creates something we desperately need—people learning to care for one another across generations.
That is one of the reasons I chose to serve as a Founding Board Member of Every Journey Matters.
As Community Engagement & Youth Development Advisor, I hope to help create partnerships with schools, churches, youth organizations, businesses, athletic programs, families, and community leaders that open doors for young people to meaningfully serve and connect with older adults.
I also hope to help develop intergenerational programs that are thoughtful and purposeful—programs that don't simply bring young people and seniors into the same room, but create opportunities for relationships to grow.
My life's work has centered around helping young people understand that they are chosen for a purpose and that leadership is ultimately about how we use our gifts to serve others.
Every Journey Matters gives us another opportunity to put that belief into action.
Because when we teach one generation to honor another, we aren't just building better programs—we are building a more compassionate community.
