MEET DINA
Dina Stewart brings extensive executive leadership and financial expertise to Every Journey Matters through her professional experience as Chief Business Officer for Liberty Union School District. Her background in finance, budgeting, fiscal oversight, organizational operations, and strategic planning provides valuable guidance as Every Journey Matters grows and works to maintain responsible financial stewardship.
But Dina's connection to the mission extends far beyond her professional experience.
Dementia has touched her own family. Her brother-in-law is living with dementia at just 55 years old, giving Dina a deeply personal understanding of how a diagnosis can change not only one person's life, but the journey of an entire family.
Watching her sister walk beside her husband through the uncertainty and changes of dementia has strengthened Dina's belief that families need more than information. They need compassion, guidance, meaningful resources, and a community willing to walk beside them.
Dina brings both perspectives to Every Journey Matters—the financial leadership needed to help build a strong and sustainable organization and the personal understanding of why this mission matters.
As Strategic Financial Officer and Founding Board Member, she is committed to helping Every Journey Matters grow responsibly so that more seniors, caregivers, and families can receive the support they deserve.
WHY I SERVE
My brother-in-law is living with dementia at only 55 years old.
Watching someone you love face this disease at such a young age changes you. I have seen how dementia affects not only the person diagnosed, but everyone who loves them.
There are moments when you want to fix it. You want to make things better. You want the person you love back the way you remember them.
But sometimes, there is nothing you can fix. All you can do is be there.
Be present. Be patient. Love them through the changes. Remind them that they are still valued, still loved, and never alone.
Watching my sister walk beside her husband has also shown me the strength, patience, and love required of caregivers every single day.
I serve on the Board of Every Journey Matters because families walking this road need more than information. They need understanding, support, guidance, and people willing to walk beside them.
For my brother-in-law, for my sister who walks beside him, for every family facing dementia, and for every caregiver doing their best to simply be there—this is why I serve.
